While the situation in Canada is less catastrophic than in other parts of the world, we are all feeling the weight of increasingly worrisome inflation. Prices are rising faster than wages and we are left with no real leverage to act on the situation. In the neoliberal order, the bourgeois do what they want and people suffer without saying a word. Rents, groceries and transport are an increasing burden on us, and it is a safe bet that things will not get any better.
A message from CLAC-allies. --- The Montreal Autonomous Tenants' Union is calling for a public demonstration this Thursday, 9am, at Lionel Groulx metro station. At 10am, police will be initiating one of 2022's largest encampment evictions, and one of the first major evictions of the fall season. We will move from Lionel Groulx to the site of the encampments.
The Anticapitalist Convergence (Convergence des luttes anticapitalistes, CLAC-"Montreal") now publishes its articles on the Contrepoints.media news platform, available at https://contrepoints.media/ in addition to its own website. The objective of the Contrepoints.media project is to offer a mobilization platform for small and large collectives, and to avoid the repetitive effort necessary to produce and maintain various websites. People's Assembly

At 1710, rue Beaudry (métro Beaudry)
Free!
Program for the evening:
Since the liberal election, resistance appears to be growing against the Couillard government’s austerity program. A double discourse has again been revealed; although cuts are made, cronyism and a refusal to tax big businesses, banks, and the rich, continue to run rampant. In 2015, the student movement announced a heated spring, while unions held back until autumn…The mood intensified during collective union agreements and numerous strikes ensued throughout Community organizations as well. Before the holidays, an agreement seemed to have been reached with the Front Common. Faced with the threat of outrageous cuts, the voices of the people were heard louder than usual, and many were relieved to have weathered the worst. Many have announced the continuation of the battle this winter.
